FURALTADONE 20%

FURALTADONE 20% is used for the treatment of non-chlamydial intestinal and upper respiratory bacterial infections. It is specifically helpful for E.coli & Salmonella (Paratyphoid). Furaltadone is a mild, less harsh anitibiotic and may be used as an alternate treatment for E.coli when Trimethoprim/Sulfa is no longer effective.

It may work for other non-specific intestinal bacteria, however, treatment of ANY kind should be confirmed with your Avian Veterinarian before use. If you are unsure of what type of bacterial infection your bird has, take the bird to your Veterinarian for diagnosis FIRST.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Mixing Instructions For Larger Flocks -

Mix 1 teaspoon Furaltadone 20% into 1 GALLON of clean water. Treat flock for 5 consecutive days.

Mixing Instructions For Smaller Flocks or Individual Birds -

Mix 1/4 teaspoon Furaltadone 20% into 1 QUART of clean drinking water. Treat birds for 5 consecutive days.

Furaltadone may be mixed, kept covered, and stored as a stock solution in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, but should be offered fresh to the bird daily in a clean drinking receptacle. Discard any unused portion of the stock solution after 5 days.

Because E.coli and Salmonella are often aggressive and difficult to eradicate bacterium, a second 5-day round of Furaltadone treatment may be needed. Should a second round be necessary, it should be repeated only after a 3 day break. We recommend flushing the bird's system with Dr. Rob Marshall's KD Cleanser for 1 day between rounds.

***Use as the bird's only source of drinking water! Remove ALL wet foods and bath water. Remove ALL grit and sources of vitamins and calcium during treatment.

NOTE:

Once treatment is complete, follow up with Dr. Rob Marshall's Quik-Gel for 3 days.

If bird does not respond to treatment or if bird’s condition worsens, consult your Avian Veterinarian.

PRECAUTIONS:

Keep out of reach of children. Not for use in birds whose meat or eggs are intended for human consumption.
